135 Badgerys Creek Road
135 Badgerys Creek Road sits on Dharug Country, within the cultural landscape of Western Sydney’s Cumberland Plain. This is a place shaped over millennia by Dharug custodianship a landscape of open woodland, creek lines, seasonal grasses and subtle ridgelines that hold deep cultural, ecological and spiritual significance.
Country here is not defined solely by its physical features, but by its living systems and the relationships embedded within them. Waterways and ephemeral creeks have long guided movement and gathering. Native grasslands and woodland ecologies provided food, medicine and material resources. Songlines, stories and cultural practices continue to connect Dharug people to this place.
The site’s location near Badgerys Creek positions it within an evolving urban context; however, the underlying cultural landscape remains present. The Cumberland Plain Woodland once extensive across this region represents an important ecological and cultural reference point. Its remnant species and soil systems reflect patterns of care and land management practiced for thousands of years.
Our approach to 135 Badgerys Creek Road recognises that design is an act of listening. By understanding the site’s topography, hydrology and ecological character, we seek to respond in ways that respect the continuity of Country. This includes acknowledging traditional custodianship, supporting ecological regeneration where possible, and embedding cultural awareness into the spatial and environmental narrative of the project.
We pay our respects to Dharug Elders past and present, and recognise that Country is enduring carrying memory, knowledge and responsibility into the future.
